Begin your adventure by taking a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a small airstrip nestled amidst the Himalayas. Upon arrival in Lukla, you’ll commence your trek, descending towards the Dudh Koshi River and following the trail through picturesque Sherpa villages and terraced fields. After approximately 3-4 hours of trekking, you’ll reach Phakding, a charming village situated alongside the river, where you’ll spend the night in a cozy teahouse.

Today’s trek takes you deeper into the heart of the Khumbu region as you follow the trail alongside the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges adorned with prayer flags. After a few hours of walking, you’ll arrive at Monjo, the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park, where you’ll complete permit formalities before continuing to Namche Bazaar. As you ascend towards Namche, you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of Everest and its neighboring peaks. Namche Bazaar, a bustling Sherpa town nestled in a natural amphitheater, will be your home for the next two nights.

Take a well-deserved rest day in Namche Bazaar to allow your body to acclimatize to the altitude. You can hike to nearby viewpoints for stunning panoramic views of Everest and its neighboring peaks. Explore the Sherpa Cultural Museum and learn about the rich heritage of the local Sherpa community. Stay overnight at Namche Bazaar.


Leaving Namche behind, you’ll continue your journey through rhododendron forests, passing by small settlements and yak pastures. After a steady ascent, you’ll reach Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, one of the most significant monasteries in the region. Here, you can witness monks chanting prayers amidst breathtaking mountain scenery.

The trail descends through lush forests before crossing the Imja River and ascending towards Pangboche, the highest permanent settlement in the Everest region. Continuing along the trail, you’ll reach Dingboche, a picturesque village surrounded by towering peaks. This is another crucial acclimatization stop where you’ll spend the night.

Take another acclimatization day in Dingboche to ensure a safe and enjoyable trek. You can opt for a hike to Nagarjun Hill or explore the village and interact with the friendly locals. Enjoy stunning views of Ama Dablam and the surrounding Himalayan panorama. Overnight at Dingboche.

As you leave Dingboche, the landscape becomes increasingly rugged and barren as you ascend towards Lobuche. Upon reaching Lobuche, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Nuptse, Pumori, and other towering peaks.

Today’s trek is the highlight of the journey as you make your way to Everest Base Camp. The trail follows the Khumbu Glacier, offering surreal views of ice pinnacles and crevasses. After several hours of trekking, you’ll arrive at Gorak Shep, a small settlement located at the base of Kala Patthar. From here, you’ll continue to Everest Base Camp, where climbers gather to prepare for their ascent of the world’s highest peak. After soaking in the awe-inspiring surroundings, you’ll retrace your steps back to Gorak Shep for an overnight stay.
